Legal Secretary

**Requirements**:
- Matric essential
- Legal secretary / paralegal qualification advantageous
- 4+ years deceased estate administration and general administration experience essential with stable employment record
- Experience in invoicing
- Able to work independently (but similarly be able to follow and carry out instructions)
- Attention to detail and quality focused
- Strong drafting skills
- Ability to multi-task and have good organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and high volume environment
**Responsibilities**:
- Deceased estate administration from opening the file to the L&D account to closing of matter
- Taking ownership of the transaction from beginning to the end which includes final accounts
- Preparing and maintaining files accurately according to specifications
- Attending to all financial aspects of transactions, including collection of costs/disbursements from clients; invoicing and attending to general accounting queries
- Effective stakeholder communication essential for both internal and external parties (Banks, Municipalities, Rates consultants, Estate Agents, Deeds office, Sars, etc.)
- Strict compliance with the various financial institutions procedures and processes
- Comprehensive service of administering and winding up of deceased estates
