**The role in a nutshell**

We are looking for an energetic, ambitious and talented **Regional Head of Compliance** for the Africa region, based in either our Cape Town or Johannesburg offices.

**Your mission will involve**:

- You will be the first point of contact for compliance related matters across Africa
- You'll drive Luno's compliance strategy in the region and ensure Luno continues to adhere to any new or existing regulatory obligations
- You'll support Luno's expansion plans in the region, acting as a key member of and advisor to the Country Launch team
- You'll work closely with Luno's Product and Countries teams, finding ways to offer amazing products and services to our customers that meet our regulatory obligations
- You'll maintain and develop strong relationships with regulatory bodies and financial partners across the region, ensuring the ongoing success of these critical partnerships
- You'll work closely with the global Compliance Operations team, providing on-the-ground support in areas such as EDD, transaction monitoring, investigation of suspicious transactions and activity, and STR/SAR filing

**In your first six months, you will**
- Immerse yourself in Luno, ensuring you have a deep understanding of our business and our customers
- Develop strong relationships across the Luno team, and with key third parties
- Become a trusted expert in all aspects of Luno's AML/CFT compliance programme, always with an eye to continuous improvement

- In-depth knowledge of, and a passion for, AML/CFT compliance
- A pragmatic and responsible approach to compliance with regulatory obligations
- The ability to collaborate across geographies, functional areas and competencies
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- A predisposition for taking ownership and consistently delivering excellence
- A desire for continuous learning, with the ability to quickly adapt to an ever-changing environment
- Experience in the cryptocurrency industry (desirable, but not essential)
