This luxury brand is seeking an experienced Groups & Events Manager to manage the day-to-day functioning of the Groups and Events team and the efficient running of the office, ensuring the team achieves the hotel and departmental goals and revenue targets.

**Responsibilities**:

- To manage the day to day functioning & office of the Groups and Events team
- Lead the Groups and Events team in achieving hotel and departmental goals and revenue targets.
- Maximize selling space through liaison with Sales and G&E Coordinators, monitoring of the diary and incoming functions.
- Participate in long-range planning meetings with regard to upcoming events and provide direction for these activities.
- Ensure that all G&E Coordinators & Administrator are knowledgeable on all aspects relating to the hotel room configuration and banqueting operation and services available; menu options, beverage knowledge, wine lists, function room layout, hotel room layout, etc.
- Ensure that all initial inquiries are handled both timeously and efficiently.
- Monitor the service quality level presented by the coordination staff to clients; to maintain a consistent level of service at all time**s.**

**Requirements**:

- SA Citizen
- Matric or Grade 12 qualification
- A formal Hospitality Management diploma or degree is highly advantageous
- Previous working experience in a similar managerial position within a 5* hotel or luxury resort essential
- Strong leadership skills
- Well presented with excellent communication skills in English
- Target and sales driven with strong financial acumen
