The Private Debt division has an over 10-year track record in providing debt funding to established companies in growing or mature markets that require capital to grow, but which struggle to access finance from traditional sources. Job summary

**Job title**: Portfolio Manager

**Reporting to**: Head of Private Debt

**Location**: Johannesburg Key responsibilities & duties

Source, screen, and conduct due diligence and analysis of new deals.
Conduct qualitative, quantitative and impact assessments of new investment opportunities.
Structure new deals within specific mandate requirements, negotiate appropriate terms and compile term sheets.
Write and present investment papers to the Investment Committee, Make recommendations to the Investment Committee.
Implement and close on new deals.
Manage and monitor existing investments, conduct annual reviews and provide feedback on performance.
Provide input into portfolio strategy and portfolio construction.
Develop and maintain intermediary and borrower relationships, while leveraging on existing professional network.
Contribute to sector-specific and impact related research efforts and improve overall quality of research.
Contribute to interactions with investors, where required.
Collaborate and provide input to the broader investment team.
Build networks within the Alternative Investments business, Sanlam Investments, Sanlam Investment Group and externally.
