Electrician

**ELECTRICIAN**

**Our client, a blue chip company based in Vanderbijlpark has a vacancy for an experienced artisan**

Maintenance of machinery and plant to ensure continued mechanical operation and performance

within a Lean Manufacturing environment. Ensure that all maintenance operations are conducted

within the quality, health, and safety requirements of the company.

**QUALIFICATION**:

- Matric (Standard 10) or recognized equivalent qualification.
- Relevant Trade certification (Electrician)
- **Certification in automation (PLC programming)**

**EXPERIENCE**
- **10 - 15 years working experience in FMCG or a manufacturing environment with sound**

**Mechanical and electrical knowledge.**
- Must have experience in fault finding and trouble shooting.
- Be able to read and understand ladder drawings, blueprints, and schematic drawings.
- **Good working knowledge and experience in plastics (blow-moulding) manufacturing or cold roll steel forming or pressing environment.**
- **Good understanding of various PLC’s: - Siemens, LS, etc.**
- Have a working knowledge of press operations and maintenance.
- Exposure in a drum manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to world class manufacturing techniques like Lean Manufacturing, TPM and Six Sigma.
- Extensive knowledge of maintenance systems and their upkeep.
- Extensive knowledge of laws related to electrical equipment in a manufacturing

environment.

**RESPOSIBILITIES**:

- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, machinery etc.
- Maintenance of machinery and plant to ensure continued mechanical operation.
- TPM, running electronic Tests, cleaning contacts, circuit boards, replacing worn components and performing routine inspections.
- Daily & weekly maintenance of cleaning filter cloths on motors and Air-con units on machines.
- To report to the Maintenance Manager any problems or faults occurring within the plant.
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the

need for adjustment or repair.
- To comply with the standby schedule, safety requirements as prescribed by the company and any requirements of the OHS Act that are indicated as your responsibilities by the Maintenance Manager.

**REQUIRED COMPETENCIES**
- Adhere to and uphold the company’s Vision and Mission Statement and principles.
- Be prepared to work overtime and be placed on standby when required.
- Able to demonstrate good communication skills and be fully literate in English.
- Fault finding and troubleshooting aptitude.
- Attention to detail

CTC according to experience
