**Overall Purpose of the Position**:
The Software Administrator is a key role in supporting and assisting the clinical operations at TASK and client locations, through implementation and administration of software systems (CDMS, LIMS and CTMS) and processes relating to these systems.

The role is responsible for a seamless integration of CDMS, LIMS and CTMS in all TASK operations and providing support and training to the internal and external clients utilizing the systems. Responsibilities may vary depending on the various projects and/or studies undertaken at TASK.

**Key Performance Areas (KPAs) & Responsibilities include, but not limited to**:

- Managing the vendor relationship for assigned system at the appropriate level
- Performing software User administration, Licensing, and configuration management
- Reviewing of software upgrades, patching and completing deployment testing
- Ensuring the continuous learning of business and/or technical processes and procedures relating to the use of assigned systems and recommending continuous improvement opportunities
- Liaising with peers at other firms/companies to gather best business practices for assigned systems
- Architecting the platform optimally to meet stakeholder's various goals
- Leading major and minor tools and plugin upgrades as and when needed
- Providing support and resolution of the tools to all users at all levels
- Provisioning and de-provisioning user accounts in the tools and providing knowledge transfer and training.
- Providing support to the development of the software build process among geographically diverse teams and ensuring continued compliance
- Controlling of the license cost
- Providing technical support of assigned systems for events escalated from Help Desk (IT)
- Providing troubleshooting expertise and drive resolution for all issues in all environments on an as-needed basis
- Collaborating with IT and business system owners to gather and understand the changes required to meet business, process, or technical needs.
- Documenting business, processes, and technical support steps as needed

**Ideal Requirements**
- Windows and Microsoft 365 system administration experience, including light system administration duties such as patching, audit log review, and software upgrades
- Knowledge of and/or experience in CDMS/LIMS/CTMS (Advantageous)
- General IT skills - more than 1 year experience
- Three plus years of customer service job related experience with a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT).
- Basic understanding of data integrity (Advantageous)
- Ability and willingness to learn new skills and abilities
- Excellent observational skills, critical thinking, rational thought process and linear thinking
- Ability to perform complex analysis, acquisition, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of computer hardware, OSs, and software utilities
- Flexibility to travel between and work at various TASK sites in Cape Town (HQ primary site).
