Department

You will be part of the Procurement Team who provide sustainable solutions for our customers based in pCV Stormill. By joining this team, you will have a chance to work in an international environment involving different cultures and challenges.

Purpose of the role:
Secures purchasing activities for the PCV Stromill manufacturing facility, using selected suppliers to ensure product supply and profitability.

Your responsibilities:
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

- Manages purchasing based on specifications and according to predefined procedures and processes to ensure delivery capability.
- Purchases products/items of expertise area at the right quality, characteristics and volume.
- Participates in the selection of suppliers by analysis and evaluation and handles operational relations and interfaces with selected suppliers in order to build and maintain close relationships with suppliers.
- Monitors the operational performance of the selected suppliers in order to ensure that FLSmidth’s capacity to deliver is stable and long term.
- Coordinates between the different departments within PCV group to ensure timely procurement involvement and to ensure that all relevant information is available to Procurement.
- Negotiates terms and conditions independently within the given framework.
- May prepare cost estimations based on analyses of past pricing trends as a basis for price setting.
- Compiles specific reports and performs calculations to support Procurement, Sales and Projects.
- Builds and maintains relationships with supplier in order to secure future delivery of products.
- Ensures the group sourcing strategy is understood within the business unit and follows up on whether objectives are met.

Requirements, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor of Science/National Diploma engineering or the equivalent knowledge.
- At least eight years’ experience in a purchasing role.
- Solid technical background
- Solid commercial and financial understanding.
- Understanding of technical specification in purchase orders.
