Our **Clearing and Forwarding Client** is currently looking for an **Export Warehouse Supervisor **to join their team based inCape Town.

**This is an AA/ EE Position**

Must have a drivers license and own transport

**Salary**: R300K - R330K per annum (Depending on experience)

this includes bonus, Medical Aid and Provident fund

**Objective**:
Ensure accurate and on-time handling of stock in the warehouse through the utilization of the correct export procedures and done in-line with the customers SLA’s. This includes all export packing activities done at a minimum cost The Company

**Qualification and / or Experience**:

- Relevant degree or diploma
- Minimum of 5 years Supervisory experience within a warehouse and/or export environment with a good knowledge of warehouse and export activities (management experience is greatly advantageous)
- Knowledge of **FMCG, wines and exports**:

- Knowledge of **Bond Stores and Customs procedures**:

- Understanding of **shipping stack dates and deadlines**:

- Strong financial, planning and procurement skills
- Knowledge of WMS processes and control
- Experience with dealing with Unionized employees (advantageous)
- Sound knowledge of warehouse operations and Imports and Exports
- Knowledge of depot health and safety requirements
- Must have a drivers license and own transport

**Key performance areas**:

- Ensure that a daily export plan is prepared and issued to warehouse staff and management.
- Conduct a daily planning meeting with the yard and the warehouse to discuss and meet current demands.
- Report on daily productivity KPI’s to staff and management.
- Report on customer KPI’s to clients and Operations Manager.
- Liaise with clients daily regarding upcoming workload and planning.
- Ensure that all Export cargo is barcoded and handled in accordance with SOP’s.
- Ensure that the loading process is monitored and that containers are assigned correctly.
- Ensure that photographs are taken at the different stages of loading cargo and that they are uploaded into The system correctly for every container that is packed. Photographs of unpacks are also to be taken.
- Ensure that good inventory control practices are followed and that clients picking rules are adhered to e.g. FIFO, FEFO or batch control.
- Monitor the capturing of information into The system done by the Supervisors and Data Clerks and ensure the accuracy thereof.
- Ensure that all outbound cargo is accurately checked and that any damages or discrepancies are immediately reported to the client and Operations Manager.
- Ensure that the Customs operation is adequately supervised and that all activities are recorded correctly for billing.
- Complete incident reports (for damages, losses, accidents, claims etc.) and submit to clients and the Operations Manager within the agreed timeframes.
- Ensure that corrective and preventative measures are implemented for all incidents.
- Ensure good housekeeping practices and that the warehouse, canopy, export ramp and offices are clean and neat at all times.
- Ensure that the Bond Store is controlled in line with the Customs Act and that the necessary documentation is filed and accessible.
- Ensure that all system procedures are followed when dealing with cargo.
- Ensure that the correct cargo is packed into the correct containers.
- Ensure adherence to customs and department of agriculture regulations and procedures.
- Ensure that all export documentation is completed accurately and timeously for containers packed.
- Ensure that inspections and fumigations of stock are arranged and in line with customers’ requirements.
- Monitor warehouse staging locations and ensure that no cargo is stored in a staging location.
- Ensure that all clients’ pallets are returned to the warehouse as per the individual agreements and that no losses are recorded.
- Ensure that the forklift drivers complete their equipment checklists at the start of each shift.
- Assist with Imports, Exports and other projects within the warehouse as and when required.
- Monitor casual labour and ensure that the casual labour spend is kept to an absolute minimum.
- Ensure that packing staff and general workers, drivers and clerks are supervised.
- Monitor and measure client’s claims and actively work towards reducing these.
- Report any health and safety incidents and damaged stock to the Operations and Compliance Manager as soon as you become aware of such.
- Conduct a daily Green Area talk to feedback to staff on various matters including health and safety matters.
- Conduct a weekly Supervisor’s Meeting with other departmental supervisors.
- Actively participate in all warehouse health and safety initiatives.

**Finance and HR Requirements**
- Approve all overtime work prior to work being done. Monitor all overtime worked by subordinates and plan the daily workload so as to keep overtime to an absolute minimum.
