The purpose of this role is to support the Product Control Strategy roll out. Manage multiple stakeholders across the business. Identify and Close control gaps, create capacity, drive optimization through the roll out of automated solutions, streamlining of processes and closing of inconsistencies. Participate and/or put in place forums to discuss Product Control related risks and controls. Manage risk in settlement accounts and related reconciliations in line with absa group policy, Scheme fee analysis and Commercial Insights, Quarterly reporting, Scheme Incentive tracking, regulatory compliance, and support finance projects. Audit and Compliance, close out on outstanding audit findings, support for audit process and compliance matters.

**Job Description**:

- Core Responsibilities including Reporting
- Ensure that there are adequate controls in settlement accounts and related reconciliations in line with absa group policy
- Regular reporting of scheme breaks to Product Control Forums and other governance forums as agreed with management, co-accountable with CFO and Executive Head to maintain a sound control environment.
- Ensure appropriate, quality, and timeous delivery of accurate financial and non-financial management information to support business objectives and expectations, including appropriate financial and non-financial metrics, valid and insightful comments and packaging the information in a relevant and appropriate manner.
- Manage monthly reporting processes for Scheme fee, end-to-end planning, monitoring and evaluation throughout the annual financial calendar (MTP/STP/RAF). Drive cost management objectives for function within the BU and build capability to partner with business to identify opportunities.
- Automate and streamline process supporting settlement accounts, scheme fees, quarterly reporting, and other processes. Drive continuous process efficiency, financial rigor and controls.
- Close out on outstanding audit findings, support for audit process and compliance matters. Accountable for ensuring an optimal and compliant control environment.
- Support and/or provide leadership for finance projects including NAPA for EB,RB,PS. Book of work contribution, partner with leaders on financial decisions and implications of business strategies, investments, trade-offset and efficiency.
- Ensure that the CFO is appraised of key financial issues that need to be raised with executive leadership to enable integrity and timely management of the BU.

- Lead the Finance team in obtaining a holistic view of EB,RB,PS whilst ensuring that each direct report maintains an in-depth understanding of his/her own functional area.
- Regularly engage with the other finance and BU teams regarding the process surrounding demand management, ensuring that adequate controls are in place to ensure effective utilisation of the Finance team’s resources.
- Embed the correct governance and control frameworks across the Finance team, as well as for proactively addressing any deficiencies and exceptions.
- Build BU leadership capability by influencing deep understanding of income statement, balance sheet, margin returns, variance analysis, capital and liquidity requirements, revenues, assets, liabilities and capital, expenses, headcount analytics and other key ratios through relevant engagement.

Education

Postgraduate Degrees and Professional Qualifications: Financial Sciences (required)
