Direct Sales Team Lead

Key purpose of the role
The incumbent must have a passion for sales and advertising and have a proven ability to create sales opportunities with experience in content integration. Developing new, whilst growing existing business must be a passion and developing strong relationships with key decision makers in the advertising/media space must come with ease.
The incumbent will assist with driving the individual direct account executives to perform the team’s strategy of achieving set targets by demonstrating strong leadership ability, leading by example and assisting AE’s with remedy’s based on their expertise.
Key outputs/accountability
Manage the performance of the team, and provide continuous feedback on their performance throughout the year to the Sales Manager
Develop and grow the team, by including regular individual training and In-field coaching.
Manage the allocation of portfolios to individual members of the team.
Track performance of portfolios (individual, including the entire team)
Align the team’s strategies and plans to the overall strategy of the commercial team
Manage the full implementation of the CRM system to ensure that the team is being correctly led to achieve and exceed targets
Monthly and quarterly management reporting, including exception reporting
Build relationships with client and agency decision-makers to increase revenue potential
Provide professional and exceptional client services in all interactions with clients
Manage the weekly direct team SMT session when required
Go on calls with the direct team account executives
Oversee all proposals that are sent to clients
Innovative and proactive - expend time and energy on creative solutions to meet clients’ needs
Going the extra mile to win business from competitors
Be an ambassador for Primedia Broadcasting
Educational qualifications
Minimum Matric
Sales related skills/qualifications, e.g. negotiating skills, presentation and general selling skills are an added advantage
Required knowledge and experience
Minimum of 3 - 5 years Sales experience, preferably in Radio Media Sales
Leadership qualities and excellent people skills
Ability to build relationships at a senior level
Excellent negotiation skills
Sound oral and written communication skills
Wide business knowledge and extensive knowledge of the radio industry
