- The Cultural Heritage Specialist will be responsible to drive Anglo American Platinum (AAP) strategy and provide expert advice on all matters related to cultural heritage.

- Job Description
- Support internal capacity development at operations on cultural heritage management
- Collaborate closely with on-site Social Performance, Environments, Discovery or Project teams to avoid damages to the cultural heritage
- Understand key risks of cultural heritage and proactively identify steps to mitigate those
- Support sites in screening potential impacts on cultural heritage
- Support the Social & Human Rights Impact & Risk Assessment (SHIRA)
- Support the development and implementation of a Grave Relocation Plan as applicable
- Promote cultural awareness throughout Anglo American Platinum ensuring cultural aspects are managed proactively and to the benefit of local communities
- Align with Land Rights Manager on cultural heritage located on or related to the land to be acquired/used
- Provide input into implementation of a Chance Find Procedure with on-site teams
- Review and update of Cultural Heritage Management Plans (CHMPs) and assess performance of site using monitoring, audits and management reviews
- Contribute to building relationships with key stakeholders relevant to cultural heritage, ensuring engagements are consistent with Business Unit and Group procedures and standards

**This role is at our Rosebank Corporate Office, at a Band 6 level reporting to the Cultural Heritage Principal**
- Qualifications
- Relevant Post Graduate Degree in Anthropology, Archeology, Cultural Heritage or related qualification

**Experience required**:

- Impact Assessment techniques
- Knowledge of and proven ability in the management of cultural heritage within the resources industry
- Knowledge of cultural heritage issues and integrating these into risk management systems
- Stakeholder engagement at various levels, including communities, authorities, academia or civil society organisations
- Experience in Grave Relocation Processes (desirable)
