My client is a leader in radio astronomy, electronic and electromagnetic equipment. They currently have a vacancy at their production facility for a Quality Officer. They are constantly growing and developing their own products, and this will be a great opportunity for a goal-oriented, organized team player.

The successful incumbent will need to hold a National Diploma or B-Tech degree in Electrical Engineering. B-Tech degree in Quality Assurance and minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Quality Officer.

**Position details**:
Type: Permanent

Primary Purpose:
To take ownership of and responsibility for all quality control related matters, these include overseeing and performing incoming/outgoing inspections, in-process inspections, internal audits, supplier selection and evaluation and the overseeing of equipment calibration.

Monitor and maintain the internal observation register.

To assist the quality manager with ensuring that the QMS continuously conforms to the requirements of ISO 9001.

To assist with investigating and setting standards relating to quality.

To assist with ensuring the promotion of customer focus with a particular focus on quality.

To continuously collaborate with production, procurement, inventory control and technical staff to analyze and improve quality control systems and processes.

Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills and ability to prioritise and multi-task.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with management and staff at all levels.

**Location**: Somerset-West, Western Cape.

**Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
National diploma or B-Tech degree in electrical engineering.

B-Tech degree in quality assurance.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a quality officer.

Experience working in an electronic/mechatronic engineering environment.

Proven experience performing inspections, in particular PCB, PCBA, mechanics, looms, in-process (subassembly and assembly) and out-going inspections.

IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 (or equivalent) certification would be an advantage.

Knowledge of and experience working with ERP/MRP system/s.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).

Ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagram.

**Salary**: R35,000.00 - R40,000.00 per month
