My client, a leader in astronomy and highly optimised reflectors within South Africa currently has an opportunity available at their production facility. This innovative engineering company is currently looking to recruit a Quality Manager. The successful incumbent will need to hold a degree or three-year diploma in electrical engineering or equivalent, as well as an applicable quality management qualification.

**Position details**:
Type: Permanent
Primary Purpose: Monitoring all operations that affect quality Preserve our reputation by ensuring the quality of our products and services To oversee and maintain the integrity of the QMS so as to ensure continuous ISO 9001 certification To oversee, partake in, and perform audits and reviews (internal and external) Managing the performance and development of the quality assurance team Be on the lookout for opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient procedures Review and approval/release of design and build documentation Establishing QA related strategies to improve efficiency and profitability at the facility, including developing and implementing quality control procedures, policies, and standards for the company to follow Responsible for the training of all staff on quality-related processes and policies Management of customer complaints/feedback relating to quality issues Management of all internal and external non-conformances, including trend analysis and corrective actions Selection and continuous evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors To continuously collaborate with all stakeholders, including management, finance, admin and technical staff, to analyse and improve quality assurance related systems and processes

Job description / core competencies:
Degree or three-year diploma in electrical engineering or equivalent Applicable quality management qualification Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a quality manager or related position in the electronic engineering environment. Proven experience performing inspections, in particular PCB, PCBA, mechanics, looms, in-process (subassembly and assembly) and out-going inspections Extensive experience with IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 (or equivalent) Experience working in a high value/low volume production environment Experience working within an MRP/ERP environment Experience with implementing and maintaining an ISO 9001 certified QMS Proven experience in achieving the key outcomes listed above

**Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) Solid knowledge and understanding of quality assurance processes, policies and systems Excellent organizational and leadership skills Detailed knowledge of implementing and maintaining ISO certified quality management systems Knowledge of and experience working with ERP/MRP system(s) A well-balanced, top achiever individual with a demonstrated track record Eager to take ownership and be accountable Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to prioritise and multi-task Excellent verbal and written communication skills with management and staff at all levels Flexible enough for an SME environment Ability to mentor, develop and motivate subordinates Capable of working in a highly technical environment A general attitude of serving others to achieve a common goal Ability to work and solve problems independently Goal-oriented, organised team player
