-The main purpose of this position is to manage a range of Financial Markets Department (FMD) and information technology (IT) programmes; ensure that projects are delivered to specification, within budget and on time; and help FMD establish and embed an internal project/programme management capability.
-Detailed Description

Prioritise projects and new requests in collaboration with the relevant business and stakeholders to enable strategic alignment and optimal resource allocation.
- Facilitate the development of the business case and project initiation documents in accordance with the Programme Management Office’s (PMO) methodology to clearly define and approve the purpose and business motivation.
- Allocate project managers and negotiate and agree on the allocation of the project team members to ensure the effective use of skills.
- Prepare estimates and budgets and manage expenditure within the approved budget.
- Oversee the project progress and delivery of the expected deliverables, within budget and according to specification and quality standards by project managers against the approved schedule.
- Fulfil the line management function pertaining to the development and performance of project managers and administrators within the team.
- Coach and mentor project managers and administrators within the team, providing leadership and motivation.
- Conduct the required programme/project meetings to consolidate reporting, manage risks and constraints, thereby ensuring cohesion, consistency and the integrity of the output.
- Manage specific projects as and when required in accordance with the prevailing workload or as assigned.
- Engage and present to senior level stakeholders within the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) at various stages of the different life cycles.
- Oversee the delivery of project benefits and monitor post-implementation reviews to ensure the sustainability of project solutions.
Job Requirements

an Honours degree (NQF 8) in Programme Management or an equivalent qualification; and
- eight to 10 years’ experience in a project management environment of which at least two years in a team leader capacity.
