Our well known commuter transport client based in Pretoria is looking to employ an experienced Revenue Control Manager.
- The position involves shifts and working on Saturdays, and will require the incumbent to start an early shift at Ekangala at 03:00AM, and then proceed to other BU’s for the day, relatively twice a week.
- Must have managed accounts / revenue staff of min 5 staff, preferably from a unionized environment. The position will be responsible for 21 staff, as such must have sound people management skills (i.e. cashiers & setright clerks & revenue officer)
- Strong planning and organizing of personnel skills, and prioritizing skills - and must be able to demonstrate in the interview
- Strong IR / discipline experience - Must be able to demonstrate their practical experience in the interviews
- Must come from only manufacturing, factor, workshop, fuel, logistics or trucking industry as the environment is similar

The position also required late night shifts (at 21:30pm) at Soshanguve, and the subordinates finish their shifts at Ekangala at 22:00PM (and therefore it’s required, that the incumbent be always on stand-by,

Soshanguve Depot -The first setright clerk starts working at 3am to enable peak morning operations (upon encountering any challenges they need to contact office manager for solutions)
The setright clerks and cashiers knock off at 21h30 at night

Ekangala
- Setright/cashier knocks off at 22h00 at night week days, and 20h00 on Saturdays upon any challenges the office manager might need to go assist night shifts duties. Frequent depot visits outside normal office hours are required to check that Cashiers and Setright Clerk perform duties as required and compliance to revenue control procedure.

Sandfontein - The incumbent will be based at Sandfontein (Pta West)

NB: The position also involve doing e-tags and set right machines spot checks and reconciliations on a monthly basis (this is done at night or in the evening after all drivers have checked in, by the Office Manager and operations department dispatch office.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
The ideal applicant will possess the following:

- A minimum of Grade 12 (Std. 10) or equivalent academic qualification.
- National diploma or degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent qualification
- Computer Literacy
- 5 years relevant experience in an operational and revenue environment in a transport/logistics environment.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a Supervisory position of cashiers and administrative clerks
- Valid Drivers’ licence

COMPETENCIES

- Monitor and control the preparation, setup, print runs and capturing of waybills which are generated daily for the Operations department.
- Check and audit monthly Revenue Cash book (RCB), carry out sequence check and ensure all waybills are accounted for.
- Control and monitor petrol usage on admin car
- Reconcile service vehicles usage for the BU
- Oversee and maintain effective control of all Private Hire accounting functions.
- Oversee and maintain effective control of all cashier and drivers shortages.
- Monitor and control cash counts for reimbursements for Subsistence and Travelling
- Oversee and maintain effective control over the issuing, returns, maintenance and safe custody of all the ticket machines as well as Point of Sale Equipment used by Ticket Sellers.
- Prepare motivations for write offs.
- Prepare pre-authorisation motivations on overtime.
- Review time and attendance of admin department including overtime.
- Oversee and maintain effective control over the collection of cash revenue and ticket sales of the cashiers, Ticket sellers and Season Ticket Sellers for the SBU.
- Check, verify and ensure correctness of all reconciliations and monthly trail balance before submitting for approval.
- Monitor and control General Office Administration.
- Supervise and allocate staff according to operational requirements.
- Identify training needs and make recommendations.
- Liaise with monitors on ticket recollection
- Oversee and monitor inspection of fraudulent tickets
- Ensure proper safekeeping of admin records and waybills storeroom
- Mediate and initiate disciplinary processes on cashiers, setright clerks and driver shortages
- Authorise emergency tickets, ticket rolls requisitions and ensure proper records of stock received

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Standby when operations starts at 3am and

end at 10 pm
- Standby on weekends with a possibility of

reporting to Depots when necessary
- Stock take of etags in the evening after

operation/ weekends
- Audit of etags and update on recons and

invoices
- Spot checks on clerks on weekends
- Monthly stock take and recons on setright

machine
- Regular check-ups on setright machines
