Introduction

Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a passion for financial control and promotion strategies? A global manufacturing company, based in Bryanston is seeking a talented Promotions Analyst to join their dynamic team.

As a Promotions Analyst, you will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of the company's promotional expenses, ensuring effective financial control. This is a challenging and dynamic role that requires someone who is comfortable working under pressure and has strong problem-solving skills. You will need to be highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining a customer-focused mindset.

Duties & Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities:
Financial Control
- Ensuring the accurate accounting of company liabilities with regards to the promotional accrual.
- Analyse and monitor promotional budgets from the marketing department for accuracy on the following fields: STD costing fluctuations, number of achievers and recoveries.
- Reviewing incentive Print against budgets.
- Yearly preparation of Print Rebate
- Performing BI Annual SOX Test
- Assisting with External Audits
- Updating manager discount tables.
- Track and analyse promotions versus original budget (Including Plan) on an ongoing basis.Highlight any pressing issues to the Business Information Manager.
- Prepare monthly summaries to business information manager in respect of promotional costs paying attention to detail and accuracy of information.
- Reconcile the promotional budgets to the GL ensuring compliance to company standards, procedures and timelines.
- Reconcile and prepare the payments to distributors for the monthly volume discounts.
- Signing off all allocations from the allocations coordinator, in line with the monthly signed results.
- Signing off Debit and Credit memos prepared by marketing department.
- Final check and release of incentive tables.

Maintain promotions accrual:

- Providing a complete budget schedule of all promotions running for the period;
- Tracking the estimates and/ or actuals against the budgeted amount;
- Updating of estimated budgets against sign off approvals.
- Keeping the promo accrual up to date at all times to ensure accurate accruals
- Analyze on a monthly basis marketing results, actual results and follow-up anomalies.
- Liaise with all the relevant departments for the updated (Signed off) budgets to timely remove accruals after the promotional period.
- Ensure the compliance in accordance with CAM (Corporate accounting manual) at all times.

Financial Reporting / Planning:

- Prepare recharge schedule for distributors on a monthly basis for all promotional recoveries.
- Assist in completing corporate reporting monthly (MPR, MRI), quarterly (QPR, QFR) and ensure deadlines are met with submission.Assist in the preparation in the annual financial plan process, by providing information on promotional expenses.
- Administrative:

- Debit Memos / Credit Memo Processing
- Manage customer queries on Credits and Debits
- Adhoc processing of memos and journals.
- Perform BI Annual SOX Testing
- Assist with Annual External Audit

Desired Experience & Qualification

Knowledge and Skills
- Formal Accounting Qualification (Degree in Finance) with minimum 3-5 Years’ experience in a medium sized company.
- Good administration skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Advanced Microsoft office skills; Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Financial acumen.
