Job Description

The role of the Fraud Risk Analyst is to detect, investigate, analyse and deter fraudulent transactions against the business. A primary focus of this role is to analyse systems for current and potential fraud and to take action to mitigate potential risk to the business. The Fraud Risk Analyst assists the investigators with compiling evidence for case files and collaborates with other stakeholders to protect and recover the company's assets.
- Analyses data systems and escalates and investigates fraudulent activity in a results driven manner
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external parties
- Completes required progress reports and distributes to manager, customers and internal partners
- Applies expert knowledge, techniques and technologies to prevent and reduce fraud and recover losses
- Ensures continuous process improvement to enable effective operational processes
- Provides expert recommendations that are technically accurate and timeous
- Creates solutions to meet customer demands
- Provides support to business management by developing general awareness and ensuring compliance to plans, policies and procedures
- Provides a consultative service to all stakeholders on the detection and prevention of fraud
- Contributes to financial gain of company through protecting its assets and recovery of assets and money
- Contributes to cost efficiencies
- Promotes teamwork amongst peers and team members
- Participates in planned activities that are appropriate for own development.

Experience and Education
- Communicate clearly and is detail-Oriented.
- Problem solves and analytical.
- Collaborate with different people at all levels and make decisions.
- Build sound relationships based on trust and openness.
- Review processes and technologies to identify control failures and system defects.
- Produce consistently high-quality outputs within agreed deadlines.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar environment.
- Minimum Grade 12, Forensic Diploma would be an advantage.
