**Estimations Engineer - Renewable Energy**

Location

Midrand - Project Based

**MAIN OBJECTIVES**

Requirement is for an Estimations Engineer with extensive proven renewable energy plant construction experience to support estimating, detail design and project execution. It will be a core requirement to be able to develop contracting and procurement strategies, specifications for equipment and materials, plant layout drawings, and details for Civils, Mechanical, Electrical and O&M buildings.

**EDUCATION & SKILLS**:
Ù Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in construction, preferably with both Client and Contractor.

Ù Experience working on renewable energy projects essential.

Ù Proven knowledge of civil, mechanical, electrical, O&M buildings and substations related to renewable energy facilities.

Ù Must have a completed diploma / degree in engineering - preferably Electrical.

Ù Understanding of FIDIC suite of contracts and bespoke Sub-EPC contract forms.

Ù Understanding of EPC and Sub-EPC contract execution and associated risks.

Ù Computer literate in MS Office Suite.

Ù Proficient in AutoCAD or similar.

Ù Knowledge of SANS 1200, 10142 and other standards related to renewable energy facilities.

Ù Must have on-site construction experience.

Ù Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written, including the writing of technical reports,

RFP documents, procedures and method statements.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Ù Evaluate incoming tender documents, specifications, and drawings to identify and develop procurement and subcontract packages.

Ù Define pricing and subcontracting strategy for most effective project execution.

Ù Understand clients’ technical requirements and ensure that they are being met.

Ù Prepare material take-off for the project scope for proposals.

Ù Check the overall accuracy of the materials take-off.

Ù Prepare bills of quantities and specifications

Ù Drafting RFQ documents for issuing to Subcontractors for pricing.

Ù Preparation of commercial adjudication of materials / equipment / subcontractor quotations

Ù Provide technical support to Procurement department.

Ù Work closely as part of a team with both colleagues within the department and the office team.

Ù Compiling and Preparation of complete cost estimate in accordance with company work instructions by using norms and procedures.

Ù Ensure all company procedures with respect to estimating and procurement are adhered to.

Ù Ensure that detailed spreadsheets are completed and that an accurate bid analysis is carried out on all quotations received.

Ù Carry out site visits as and when required.

Ability to commute/relocate:
