Electrical Supervisor (Light current) to maintain the Operator’s assets and ensure that safety, quality, and performance targets are achieved. **Position details**:

Reports to: Electrical Systems Manager
Primary Purpose: To maintain the Operator’s assets and ensure that safety, quality, and performance targets are achieved. To execute maintenance policy, standards, procedures and ensure reliable safe system. To ensure seamless travel for our customers that is safe, reliable, comfortable, and friendly.
Job description / core competencies:
Work Context and Environment
Office environment/indoors - exposure to air conditioning (regular). Working outdoors - exposure to all weather conditions (frequent). Working with low voltage and around the vicinity of medium voltage electricity(occasional). Working in stations, Depots, tunnel, and shafts - underground (periodic). Normal weekly hours, and as expected from the night shift roster, also occasionally as required besides the night shift roster.
Principal Accountabilities
Supervise the maintenance of the following systems: Station and Tunnel Management Systems (Building Management System) and Security and Access Control System within the Maintenance Division.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health Safety Acts & its Regulations, all applicable legal requirements and Company policies.
Assist in continuous improvement within the Department relating to the following:
Lead and confirm the asset verification accuracy including Maximo Change proposals for assets that are under your control.
Assist with non-compliance reporting process and NCR closure.
Lead and provide feedback to Manager on maintenance inspections on all the above stated systems.
Ensure update of maintenance procedures.
Arrange meetings, venues, record and distribute minutes as per required timelines.
Specific Responsibilities
Assist with site inspections, report writing and other related maintenance activities on all the above stated systems.
Enforce compliance to applicable codes and standards for these systems.
Comply with Company policies
Conduct inspections, report deviations and ensure corrective measures are implemented.
Participate in Maintenance Management Information System
Render assistance in managing defect notifications and completion of remedial works.
Communicate and keep register of business correspondence.
Organize and lead monthly site inspections of the Gautrain system.
Inspect system to identify issues or non-conformity for resolution.
Arrange and conduct regular inspections and audits on subcontractors
Give technical advice and feedback on any defects or upgrades.
Assist in renewal projects.
Reply to related letters and minutes as per required timelines.
Adhere to budget requirements.
Conduct analysis on obsolescence treatment.
Compile and investigate the bi-weekly lift and escalator unavailability report in relation to power supply and STMS outages.
Must be able to walk inside Tunnel at an average of 5km per night (tunnel is 15.2km long).
Abide to general housekeeping rules.
Undertake any other duties as assigned.

Educational Level
B. Tech or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Light Current).
Valid driver’s license with driving experience and fully capable to drive manual vehicles safely.

Electromechanical knowledge would be advantageous.
Server knowledge
Vast Access control knowledge
Safety management knowledge
General technical knowledge
Computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must be able to read and interpret drawings
Language Ability
Fluent in English
Years of Experience
A minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in maintenance of light current systems e.g. PLCs (Schneider), Instrumentation and Building Management Systems or SCADA.
