To keep pace with Mazars’ international sustainability success, evolving regulation and market sentiment, Mazars in South Africa is seeking an experienced sustainability professional to join our team. This role presents an excellent opportunity to grow your career whilst helping our clients navigate and positively contribute to the sustainability agenda. You will consult on business sustainability strategy and report to clients. Working alongside our existing sustainability team, you will support local clients with the establishment and maintenance of their ESG / sustainability programs including program strategy, governance structure, risk, sustainability reporting and target setting.

This role offers a great opportunity for an experienced sustainability technician looking to take their career to the next level via additional business development, team management and/or international exposure.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Consulting clients on their sustainability strategy, business optimization, climate risks and opportunities and corporate social responsibility
- Providing technical consultation support to reporting and assurance teams
- Delivery of high-quality reports on business sustainability solutions
- Develop proposals and take an active role in the business development activities including prospect meetings, preparation of proposals and project plans
- Support in the further development of our advisory/consulting offering
- Facilitate strategy sessions at C-Suite level
- Research and project management essential
- Team and project management essential
- Willingness to be trained as an accredited Carbon Footprint Analyst
- Execution of social sustainability solutions through skills development innovative solution
- Ability to create pragmatic business solutions

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Relevant post-graduate qualification essential (sustainable development, business, finance or accounting)
- Knowledge of the universal frameworks on sustainability and integrated reporting frameworks and standards highly advantageous
- Knowledge of the GRI Standards an added advantage
- In addition to the technical qualifications, experience and/or qualifications in a business management-related field would be beneficial (e.g. financial, change management, strategy etc.)
- A minimum of 5 years’ professional services experience within the sustainability field with a proven consulting background
- Good business developer with a good network within the business sustainability sector in South Africa
- Commitment to the B-BBEE transformation agenda
