**Role Summary**:
As Financial Controller for European manufacturing operations, you will play a crucial role in overseeing financial performance, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions. This position is ideal for someone with a robust background in manufacturing finance, who can adapt to the complexities of a multinational business. The role is hybrid, based in South Africa, with occasional travel to local offices.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- _**Financial Oversight**:_Manage financial control functions for European manufacturing operations, overseeing accurate and timely financial reporting, account reconciliation, and compliance with international and local standards.
- _**Cost Analysis & Management**:_ Analyse manufacturing costs, manage cost accounting processes, and provide insights to optimize production expenses and drive profitability.
- _**Budgeting & Forecasting**:_ Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, working with regional stakeholders to set realistic financial goals and adapt to changing market conditions.
- _**Regulatory Compliance**:_ Ensure strict compliance with European financial regulations, maintaining audit readiness and adherence to reporting standards in the manufacturing sector.
- _**Process Improvement**:_ Identify and implement process improvements in financial reporting, planning, and control to increase efficiency and support operational excellence.
- _**Inventory & Asset Management**:_Oversee inventory accounting, fixed assets, and capital expenditure, ensuring optimal use of resources.
- _**Cross-Functional Collaboration**:_ Partner closely with manufacturing, operations, and executive teams across regions to ensure alignment with financial objectives and operational goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, CA(SA) designation required.
- Minimum 3-5 years in a Financial Controller or senior accounting role,
- Direct experience in manufacturing or production-based environments (preferable)
- Proficiency in cost accounting, financial reporting software, and ERP systems. Advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Strong analytical mindset with an ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing finance, with a solid understanding of cost structures, inventory accounting, and operational efficiencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote and cross-functional team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate different time zones as required.
