**Job description**:
A unique opportunity to join a JSE listed financial organisation that continually delivers excellent results and growth that exceed all competitors in the market. We are looking for an Underwriter to join the Western National Insurance division. The incumbent should be able to underwrite new policies and renewals, negotiations, and quotes etc.

**Responsibilities**:

- Providing individual client terms on existing and new business
- Developing and creating of new policy schedules on the Tial system
- Preparing and finalising of management reports of all new and cancelled business on certain portfolios
- Issuing new policies, renewals, and endorsements on the Tial system
- Prepare new business quotes
- Negotiating renewal terms and preparing the renewal documentation
- Checking policies before sending it to brokers
- Telephone contact with brokers when they phone in with queries or amendments/additional covers
- Saving all work electronically
- Arrange Facultative Reinsurance when required

**Minimum Requirements**:

- FAIS accredited/compliant (complete full qualification as set by regulation)
- Successfully completed RE5 Examination Level 1
- A minimum of 3 years’ working experience within an insurance company
- A minimum of 3 years’ underwriting experience in commercial lines
