Fiduciary - Assistant Vice President

Role Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

Department: Fiduciary/Private Wealth

Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time

The Role & Key Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Manager in the Fiduciary Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency of the section is maintained and is in line with the Company’s policies and procedures as well as considering, and if approved, facilitating client requests.

Operations
- Ensure that new clients and prospects are brought on efficiently and with a good first impression of Apex.
- Guide junior members of staff accordingly.
- Ensure all work undertaken complies with the Fiduciary businesses documentation and relevant regulatory requirements and anti-money laundering regulations.
- Assist your Line Manager in supervision, monitoring and appraisal of the team.
- Promote excellent relationships with clients of the Company.
- Build effective relationships between individual team members.
- Encourage a positive working environment.
- Support all aspects of general administration of clients.

Technical
- Understand and execute delegated elements of new business processes.
- Maintain quality and control of processes and meet deadlines.
- Attend internal meetings organised by relevant personnel to undertake training on both internal policies and procedures as well as any external regulatory changes.
- Assist with ensuring all client requests are responded to or delegated in a timely fashion.
- Assist with maintaining on-going review and updating of procedures for the team, maintaining consistency across client base.
- Ensure that adherence to compliance policies is being adhered to by less experienced administrative staff at all times.

Skills Required:

- Have at least 3 years working within a similar regulated business.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and coach team.
- Have an understanding of fiduciary structures and their administration.
- Ability to work in a demanding environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Possess personal qualities of integrity, good communication and discretion.
- A confident manner and the ability to communicate with clients effectively.
- Strong IT skills.
- General knowledge of banking systems.
