Our client with a national footprint in the pet food industry requires your expertise and experience as a Junior Warehouse Manager for the Killarney Gardens (Cape Town) Warehouse and Distribution facility.

**Responsibilities**:As a Junior Warehouse Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operations of our warehouse facility. Your responsibilities will include:
**Inventory Oversight**:Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using our warehouse management system.
- Monitor inventory levels, anticipate demand, and initiate procurement orders to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Regularly conduct physical counts and audits to reconcile system data with actual stock levels.

**Staff Management**:

- Lead and supervise a team of warehouse personnel, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a productive and cohesive workforce.
- Schedule and allocate tasks to staff members, optimizing resources to meet operational goals.
- Foster a positive work environment, encourage teamwork, and address any performance issues promptly.

**Process Optimization**:

- Collaborate with staff to enhance warehouse processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implement best practices for receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping products efficiently while maintaining quality standards.

**Health and Safety Compliance**:

- Enforce adherence to health and safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff members.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and take corrective actions as needed.

**Customer Service**:

- Collaborate with the customer service team to fulfil orders accurately and promptly, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and escalate complex matters as necessary.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 1 year of experience in warehouse operations.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, colleagues, and customers.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing a team.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to process improvement.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and protocols.
- Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate records.
- Matric certificate, additional education or certifications in supply chain management or logistics is a plus.

Working hours per week (normal time) is 45 hours but overtime will be required from time to time.

Please note that this is an outsouced position and you will be employed by us as the agency and assigned to the client.

**Job Type**: Contract
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: R70.00 - R77.00 per hour
