St Andrew’s College seeks to employ a qualified, efficient, and dynamic person in the role of

**Interim Senior Maintenance Manager**:
The Senior Maintenance Manager has a key role in managing the Repairs and Maintenance Team to offer a first‐line repair and maintenance service at St Andrew’s College.

The Senior Maintenance Manager directs and manages both the in-house team and external contractors and coordinates the work of the maintenance team to ensure that the maintenance, repairs, and standard of presentation of the school, its buildings, and facilities are of a high standard.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Management and supervision of a team of staff including task allocation;
- Implementation of maintenance management programmes systems and processes;
- Conducting a preventative maintenance programme and inspection of all assets, buildings, plants, and infrastructure;
- Health & Safety;
- Resource Management;
- Maintenance emergencies - participation in out of hours on-call duty roster and effective execution of maintenance emergencies.

**Qualification and experience**:

- Grade 12 with at least 5 years’ relevant experience within property or facilities maintenance fields;
- A tertiary qualification, or relevant trade certificate, as well as the ability to communicate proficiently in both English and isiXhosa will be an advantage;
- Extensive experience in managing people;
- Plumbing, carpentry, walling, paving, roofing, flooring, painting and / or electrical knowledge will be an advantage;
- A valid driver’s license and own vehicle;
- IT, administrative and excellent organisational and problem-solving skills are essential;
- Financial insight and procurement experience;
- Deadline driven.
