**Overview**:
The Commercial manager plans, directs, and coordinates the actual distribution or movement of a product or service to the customer. Coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, goals and establish training
programs for the sales team. The Commercial Manager participates in sales, business development and principal management. The Commercial manager further analyzes market insights gathered by staff to determine sales potential and inventory requirements and monitor the preferences of customers. This role is responsible for the sales of the SBS and fiscal metrics thereof.
**Qualifications**:
Matric
University (First degree) in Commercial/Sales and Marketing/Industrial Chemicals.
Commercial qualification will be an added advantage.
**Experience**:
**General Experience**
Wide and deep experience providing expert competence (Over 10 years to 15 years). Technical and commercial experience in CAS & Toll & Manufacturing will be an advantage.
**Managerial Experience**
Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short / medium timescales within the overall policy framework. (Over 6 years to 10 years).
**Duties**:
- People management
- Business performance assessment and reporting
- Support the GM Industrial Chemicals on principals management
- Ensure that the subordinates understand their sales targets and the strategy and how they are aligned to that of the organisation
- Directs and coordinate activities involving sales of CAS & Toll & Manufacturing solutions and products.
- Confer with potential customers regarding their CAS & Toll & Manufacturingt needs and advise customers on solutions, liaising with the technical team.
- Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and services.
- Ensure the business executes the sales and services based on the agreements in place.
- Direct, coordinate, and assess the subordinates’ lead activities to meet the targets and strategy in place.
- Assist the subordinates with the commercial and technical offering for the tenders and prepare the board resolution
- Coordinate and direct the tender bidding process for water treatment products and services.
- Analyse and report the profitability of the business to operating profit level
- Prepare and submit detailed forecast monthly, i.e. indicating products, volume, turnover and gross profit by customer.
- Prepare budgets and approve budgeted expenditures for subordinates.
- Oversee the total sales of CAS & Toll & Manufacturing and products to municipalities and commercial customers.
- Review operational records and reports relative to the sales and identify growth opportunities.
- Oversee the subordinates’ price submissions and carry out margin management monthly.
- Monitor customer preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts.
- Plan and direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and service programs.
- Join the subordinates and on key customer visits.
- Provide customer intelligence for principals and the technical team in providing suitable solutions to customer
- Direct and coordinate activities to ensure continuous and sustainable business
- Ensure that the subordinates prioritise performance products, solutions and decommoditise the business
- Confer or consult with department heads to plan advertising services.
