Merchandise Admin Assistant

Continental Linen has a factory in Cape Town and offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town. We are looking for an experienced Merchandise Administrator to join our Johannesburg team, based in Marlboro, Sandton to service 100 Stores Nationally.
**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**
**1. Stock Management**
**Packaging & Labelling Preparation**: Develop and distribute detailed packaging and labelling instructions for new stock to ensure consistency and brand standards.
**Quality & Design Checks**: Perform thorough quality and design checks to ensure all merchandise meets company standards before distribution.
**Store Selection for Product Launches**: Identify strategic stores for launching new stock, maximizing visibility and impact.
**Initial Stock Allocation**: Allocate and distribute new stock across stores, ensuring each location has an appropriate amount based on expected demand.
**Sales Monitoring & Replenishment Allocation**: Track sales performance across locations, making data-driven replenishment decisions to maintain stock availability.
**New Store Stock Allocation**: Plan and execute stock allocations for new store openings, ensuring optimal product selection and quantities.
**2. Stock & Sales Analysis**
**Inventory & Sales Reporting**: Generate and analyze reports on stock levels in stores and warehouses, as well as sales performance over specific timeframes.
**Stock Movements & Consolidation**: Issue instructions on stock transfers between locations to consolidate inventory and ensure balanced stock levels.
**Sales Performance Analysis**: Monitor high and low-performing items, identifying trends and providing insights for stock adjustments.
**Pricing & Promotions**: Suggest strategic price adjustments and promotional activities for slow-moving items to improve turnover.
**Order Management**: Place orders for new products and manage forecasts and reorder points for replenishment stock, ensuring availability aligns with sales projections.
**3. Store Visits**
**Physical Stock Level Monitoring**: Conduct store visits to assess on-hand stock levels, ensuring alignment with inventory data.
**Product Placement Audits**: Observe in-store product placement to confirm adherence to merchandising plans and optimal visibility.
**Feedback Collection**: Gather feedback from store teams on new products, high and low sellers, and any quality issues observed.
**Signage & Pricing Compliance**: Verify that all in-store signage and pricing displays align with current promotions, policies, and brand standards.
**Comparative Shopping**: Conduct regular analyses of competitor products, pricing, quality, and design trends to inform merchandising strategies.
**4. Memorandums & Communications**
**National Memos**: Create and distribute memos for new products, promotions, price changes, and merchandising instructions to guide store teams.
**Policy Distribution**: Communicate national policies and general updates to ensure consistent messaging and standards across locations.
**In-Store Signage Creation**: Design and oversee the distribution of in-store signage to support promotions, product launches, and merchandising initiatives.
**Sales & Promotions Preparation**: Prepare itemized lists and processes for upcoming sales and promotional events, coordinating with stores for smooth execution.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in a merchandising, retail, or inventory management role.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in inventory control and sales analysis.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; experience with merchandising software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a fast-paced retail environment.
