**Job Advert Summary**:
The purpose of role is to support the LBI Head of Risk ( as well as Manager Enterprise and Manager Risk, Governance and Reporting) in enhancing and further implementing the risk management framework, strategy, policies and process, and in advising and supporting the
business in embedding a culture of sound risk management across the company. To assist the LBI Head of Risk with regards to the development and implementation of the Social and Ethics Framework

**Minimum Requirements**:
Preferred Minimum Education and Experience
- B Com (Degree) - Preferably with Risk Management Certificate or Diploma
- Relevant 4 to 4 year qualification in Risk Management, Business Management/Administration, and/or Insurance
- 3-4 years Considerable experience in the implementation of risk management framework (including risk management strategy and process)
- 3-4 years Risk Management experience in the financial services sector (preferably the insurance industry)
- 3-4 years Experience in risk assessments and quantification
- 3-4 years Experience in risk reporting to the Board and its committees

Critical Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of risk management for Insurance companies such as Own Risk and Solvency Assessment, Solvency Assessment and Management and Prudential Standards.
- Skilled in research methods
- Above-average analytical and conceptualisation abilities
- Advanced presentation and report writing skills to senior management
- People skills and ability to build relationships across the business and create a culture of risk management
- Capacity to work Independently
- Effective implementation of the Risk Management Strategy and Framework
- Ability to utilize CURA for embedding risk culture and effective reporting
- Adhering to company Group values
- Social and Ethics, and Strategy management

Additional Requirements
- Travel as and when required
- Extended hours as and when required

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Key Performance Areas

**1. Enterprise Risk Management**
- Conduct risk reporting is in compliance with SAM provisions;
- Conduct ongoing risk assessments and reviews in line ISO 31000, Prudential Standard, PFMA, King IV and Risk Management Standards.
- Support the team with the compliation of the ORSA report ( Risk, Ops and Actuarial team)
- Develop, review and implementation of the risk management strategy and plan
- Incident management and control self-assessments (CSA) of various business units
- Develop, implement and annually review the enterprise risk management framework and other risk management policies that are required by Prudential Authority GOI standards
- Perform research on emerging risks and maintenance of the emerging risk register
- Maintaining the strategic risk registers, operational risk registers and emerging risk register of the company
- Identify current and emerging risks and develop of emerging risk registers
- Develop processes and procedures to monitor and assess risks in line EWRM Framework
- Participate documenting outcomes of, risk and control assessments with management

**2. Company Strategic Input and Research**
- Conduct environmental scan
- Support with the consolidation of the strategy for the business, compilation of the corporate plan and shareholder compact.
- Alignment of the business strategy and strategy formulation processes with risk management plan
- Monitoring of the business performance against agreed objectives as stated in the shareholder compact on a quarterly basis

**3. Social and Ethics Management**
- Implement the Social and Ethics rollout plan
- Create a culture of ethics awareness
- Identify social engagement risks for LBIC and LBLIC
- Taking an active role in championing “doing the right thing” and coaching team members and other key stakeholders to adopt a culture of integrity in their businesses.
- Ethics awareness, training and communication.
- Progress reporting on Social & ethics issues
- Reporting social and ethics issues
- Assist LBIC/ LBLIC: Risk Manager to draw social and ethics issues matters-within the mandate of the Social & Ethics Committee-to the attention of LBIC and LBLIC management as and when the committee deems it necessary for the management to consider such matters.
