The Business Unit Director has overall control and management of all through-the-line campaign development as well as leading the Key Account Management team with regards to campaign development, day-to-day activities and interaction with clients

The role of the Business Unit Director is to provide strategic input on all campaigns and day-to-day work, driving internal planning as well as external client / stakeholder strategic brand direction via demonstration of clear understanding of client’s strategic requirements, and effective communication thereof to all agency team members

Understanding of retail communication with a focus on financial services, cellular and petroleum as well as the Nigerian markets would be beneficial.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
The key duties and responsibilities listed below are a guideline only and are by no means comprehensive as the requirements of the position are fluid and flexibility in terms of responsibilities and duties is required. Any additional requirements as permitted by law and fall within the scope of this position; its capabilities and the divisional range may be added from time to time at the discretion of the line manager and divisional head.

**Core Duties**:

- Overall control and management of all through-the-line campaign development
- Leading the Key Account Management team with regards to campaign development, day-to-day activities and interaction with clients
- Strategic input on all campaign and day-to-day work, driving internal planning as well as external client / stakeholder strategic brand direction via demonstration of clear understanding of client’s strategic requirements, and effective communication thereof to all agency team members
- Actively strengthening and managing client relationships through efficient and effective campaign management
- Actively seeking new opportunities for client business growth and delivering business solutions to the client
- Project management and leadership of key strategic campaign development
- Active leadership by example; stepping in where necessary in order to ensure delivery by doing whatever is required at the time; delivering high standards of client satisfaction through monitoring feedback, surveys, campaign evaluations and continuously adopting and adjusting approaches to ensure improvement
- Understanding and actively engaging with both agency and client on industry trends, competitor analysis, global developments, in order to ensure both agency and clients are appraised of current issues and opportunities, and ensuring these are communicated clearly and effectively to all agency team members
- Going the extra mile to ensure agency delivery at all times
- Inspiring, driving and leading the KAM team from both the day-to-day as well as longer-term perspectives, ensuring their professional developmental targets and objectives are delivered upon
- Liaising and forming strong working relationship with the Creative Director, Deputy Creative Director and senior creatives in order to maximize strategic and creative opportunities
- Liaising with Production and Traffic Departments to ensure expediency and efficiencies with regards to timing, quality of output and minimization of pressure
- Attendance and input into internal (briefings, reviews, status, etc.) and external (briefings, presentations, status, etc.) meetings, at all times assuming a leadership position within each forum, driving the dialogue to ensure best possible outcomes
- Handle all periodic recons of hours and presentations of the recons to Client. Handle all resource allocation vs retainer, negotiating freelancer fees with Client should more resources be required, moving of projects around to ensure smooth delivery of work to client, but minimizing the pressure on Agency resources, so that high quality work is delivered to client.
- Managing and creating retainer proposals for approval by Exco and presentation and negotiation with client.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Degree/Diploma in Marketing or Advertising
- Strong marketing strategic management background preferred
- Driver’s license (and own reliable transportation)

**Experience Required**:

- Prior experience in an agency environment required
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Group Account Director
- Strong administrative experience essential
