**Type of Contract**: fixed term contract ending 30 September 2025

**Main purpose of the job** :The incumbent will provide high-quality basic to advanced psychosocial support for person living with HIV/AIDS and, including his or her family/close support system in high and medium volume facilities using (booking system -roving) for Vulnerable, GBV, Substance abuse, mental health, Interrupters in treatment, un-suppressed viral loads. The psychosocial support objectives are to improve linkage to care and treatment retention for persons living with HIV/AIDS. Provide technical support to facility teams on the psychosocial management of patients. The incumbent will support case management working collaboratively with DOH social workers, community case management team and DeptSocDev social workers on case management support activities.

**Key performance areas** o Provide high
- quality basic to advanced Psychosocial support to HIV positives and ART patients in high volume sites. o Provide Technical support on psychosocial management to DOH facility and MatCH teams. o Co-ordinate psychosocial services for a person living with HIV/AIDS and, including his or her family/close support system in the district/facilities. o Collaboratively work with Medical officers, Professional Nurses to support identification of patients for psychosocial support. o Work with OVC team on establishing disclosure sessions o Support care givers on disclosure processes through establishment of disclosure sessions at facility level. o Support identification of unsuppressed Viral load patients for psychosocial support o Ensure supported facilities have disclosure guidelines available and up to date o Conduct mental health assessments to all clients in contact with o Ensure availability of adherence guidelines in support of adult and children adherence to treatment.Maintain working relations with different stakeholders e.g. Department of Health employees, DeptSocDev, community partners and civil society to support implementation of services.

**Required minimum education and training** o Bachelor’s degree in social work o HIV/AID Counselling certificate.

**Professional Body registration** o Registration with relevant statutory body: SACSSP

**Minimum work experience** o Minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience in the healthcare sector o Good knowledge and work experience in a comprehensive HIV treatment and care, Prevention services, working in facility and community-based programs.

**Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities** o Valid Driver’s License o Work experience in the HIV and AIDS field o Sound knowledge of reproductive health and HIV/AIDS o Experience working in HIV prevention programs o Work experience with different community stakeholders o Gender and cultural differences sensitive. o Experience in working with government departments o Ability to interact comfortably and effectively with people from different backgrounds, especially adolescence o Well-developed social and team interpersonal skills o Good communication skills in English - written and verbal (local languages an advantage) o Good counselling skills o Ability to handle a varied, busy, and pressurized workload o Previous management, training and mentoring of staff and ability to handle conflict o Ability and willingness to travel o Available to commence work immediately.
