LC Studio, a newly launched division of Life Choices Coding Academy, is seeking to employ an experienced WordPress Developer to manage the web design and development department. We are looking for a driven individual with a passion for managing teams and developing systems whilst empowering youth.

Life Choices Academy was established in 2017. It aims to equalise the skills gap in South Africa by providing coding boot camps to youth from underprivileged backgrounds. The boot camp consists of 6 months of in-house training as well as a 6-month internship in the industry. LC Studio is our in-house development agency that focuses on upskilling aspiring developers on real projects that we build for clients and partners.

**Role**:
In this role, you will be responsible for effectively managing the team's work schedule, serving as the main point of contact with clients, and providing technical support to the team. We are looking for a self-starter who is passionate about web development and digital marketing, and who is motivated to contribute to the overall success of our organisation and the beneficiaries it serves.

As part of the senior team at LC Studio, you will be guiding and navigating a team of novice interns through daily tasks and the studio’s project pipeline, ensuring interns gain meaningful work experience whilst successfully delivering on client-based projects. You will also play a key role in designing and implementing systems for LC Studio to take the department forward and improve its ability to deliver ROI and meet its KPIs.

**Responsibilities (but not limited to)**:

- Managing the department in line with other senior team members.
- Managing daily tasks and team schedules in line with project needs and generating detailed reports to ensure goals and deadlines are met.
- Provide technical assistance to the team and interns and help diagnose technical issues to ensure client satisfaction.
- Work closely with the team to cultivate and refine their skills.
- Serve as the direct liaison with clients and lead client meetings, recognizing client specifications and user requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance and make recommendations for improvement, such as utilizing software to enhance performance and setting up internal systems for task tracking and management.
- Attending staff meetings, workshops and team seminars

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in web development.
- Strong knowledge of WordPress, JavaScript, HTML, CSS/SCSS, and experience taking ideas from concept to deployment.
- Ability to work directly with clients.
- Experience in an agile environment is a plus.
- Bonus experience includes managing a team, scrum master or higher, PHP, UI/UX design, and graphic design.
- Knowledge of GitHub is essential.
