**Main purpose of the job**:

- To manage and prepare all regulatory activities and requirements of the Research Committee
- To coordinate the committee meetings, meetings of the committee chairperson and the Provincial Research Directorate and other entities
- To act as a liaison between the committee, HREC, and applicants
- To work and report to the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (CMJAH) research committee chair

**Location**:

- **Parktown - Johannesburg**

**Key performance areas**:

- Facilitate Research Committee meetings
- Compile minutes taken at meetings
- Liaise between applicants, committee reviewers, and Clinical Director/CEO offices
- Compile a monthly report to be submitted to the committee and Provincial Research Committee
- Assist the committee in planning research symposia
- Perform ad hoc administration assignments and duties i.e., following up with the CEO’s office or reviewers for completion of the review process
- Provide front office support as and when required i.e., telephone and communication with applicants
- Undertake, and train relevant staff members on, archiving activities

**Required minimum education and training**:

- **Grade 12**

**Desirable additional education, work experience, and personal abilities**:

- High level of precision, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Exceptional organizational and administrative skills are required together with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Able to exercise discretion and independent decision-making
- Ability to prioritize own workload, take initiative (pro-active), and work to tight deadlines
- Self-motivated with high regard for work ethic, values, and integrity
