Manage a Warehouse operations with multiple staff, multiple customers and products, and associated machinery/equipment.
Liaise with customers, TNPA (Transnet Port Authority) Other Terminal Operators, Vessel Agents, Service providers (including but not limited to Pushing/pay loading providers, tally, environmental, etc) to ensure a productive, efficient operation.
Attend daily meetings for working vessels to ensure terminal objectives are met, and to address any issues that may arise during these operations.
Plan and manage the effective utilization of space,
Labour, equipment/machinery, and other resources specific to the cargoes handled.
Staff training and development.
Terminal reporting i.e., financial, and operational reports required for month and quarter ending, as well as those daily requirements to TNPA.

Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum of a matric (Grade 12) level of education
Tertiary qualification, or studying towards a tertiary qualification, in a shipping or related field - an advantage.
Minimum 3-5 years proven operational experience within a Terminal / Warehouse environment.
Sound knowledge of Warehouse planning, stacking including bin planning and warehouse utilization,receiving and dispatching of Bulk and Breakbulk Cargoes.
Must have a sound system understanding of Cargo Online (COL), including weighbridge systems.
To manage the logistics chain from Ship to warehouse to achieve planned productivity levels and to ensure efficient utilisation of available resources within laid-down financial parameters.
Proven financial and administrative experience.
Prepared to work shift work and duty weekends
Visible initiative and drive (proactive & lead by example)
A sound knowledge of relevant quality working standards and safe working procedures as well as the requirements of the Health and Safety legislation (National Port Act / OHS Act / Maritime Occupational Health and Safety Act)
Industrial Relations knowledge, i.r.o. the requirements of Labour Legislation and HR procedures
Sound communication and interpersonal skills
Valid code 8 driver’s license.
