Main Purpose of the role

With direction from the PRSSA Operations Director and Inverroche Head of Operations, the role is responsible for overseeing performance of 3rd Party Manufacturing Co-packer Operations and will be accountable to for the overall planning, management and completion of Supply Chain technical projects in compliance to Group Manufacturing requirements across the managing entity.

A key deliverable will be to successfully project manage and lead the cross-functional teams responsible for new product development as well as act as the central business contact for regulatory guidance on product category specifications as prescribed by the Liquor Product Act and DAFF. In addition, the role will be the intermediary between Global and the region (SSA), responsible for championing COGS operational leverage initiatives, facilitating the 3YP network and footprint optimization process, track and monitor non-industrial capex spend and implementation as well as support the adoption and reporting of Safety, Quality and CRM requirements as prescribed.

The Role will be based in JHB and will have dual line reporting.- Direct Manager: Operations Director SA and SSA- Dotted Line Manager: Technical and Operations Manager: - Inverroche.

Job Scope and Context

Project management of New Product Development and Introduction as per the global framework and in collaboration with HQ technical team. 3YP Network and footprint planning to inform capex spend. In collaboration with procurement regularly review else work to develop Local/alternate Dry & Wet goods supplier in line with the groups S&R aspiration as well as support to support COGS optimization Understand supplier value chain with the intent of implementing solutions to meet the groups S&R Scope 3 carbon emission reduction target Have in depth knowledge of the Liquor Products Act as well as foster relationships with DAFF to ensure imported else locally sourced products are compliant as per the respective spirit categories promulgated. Overseeing 3rd Party Co
- Packer such that planned production requirements are met in order to support realization of the sales annualized sales plan. Consumer complaint management and reporting to global as per guidelines. Implementing QSE improvement plan at Co-packers as per global guidelines. Timely reporting regional performance & predefined KPI’s to global team. Conduct annual internal and external technical as well as QSE audit requirements as required by the group Support and act as cover for Technical and Operations Manager for all governance deliverables required at both Brand Company and 3rd Party Co-packer Manufacturing sites.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience:
Essential:
- Bachelor of Science Degree holder with formal experience in manufacturing environment.- Minimum 5 years working experience in food or beverage environment- Strategic and growth mindset with advanced statistical data evaluation modelling experience- Project Management, Planning and organizational skills with prior experience facilitating strategic footprint and expansion projects- Strong inter-personal skills with ability to influence- High sense of urgency, able to meet tight deadlines- Fluent in English

Desirable:
Experience in the Liquor Industry. Knowledge of food & legal compliance in SA. Knowledge in liquor product act in SA.
