**About the Climate Justice Coalition**:
The Climate Justice Coalition is a coalition of South African trade unions, grassroots, community and non-profit organisations. It is working on advancing a transformative climate justice agenda, which works to tackle inequality, poverty, and unemployment. The coalition advocates for a vision of climate justice which advances environmental, energy, gender, racial, climate, and economic justice together. The coalition aims to advance the struggle for climate justice using a combination of litigation, advocacy, education, training, mobilising, organising, campaigning, and non-violent direct action. The coalition's strength lies in our diversity both in terms of our member base and in terms of bringing together our different tactics to collectively advance climate justice.

The coalition is led by a secretariat and steering committee and has a diverse array of members working on a variety of social, labour, health, environmental, energy, education, gender, human rights, and climate justice issues. You can view a list of members on our website: ClimateJusticeCoalition.org. The coalition meets as a full coalition once a month. We also work through task team structures. We currently have four different task forces focused on energy and mining justice, legal advocacy, economic justice, and communications. Education is also a cross-cutting responsibility of the coalition.

**About the Climate Justice Coalition Coordinator**

**Responsibilities**

**Project work**:
**Coordinate projects.** Working with the coalition to develop terms of reference and manage projects through to completion, including regular feedback and support.

Provide support to coalition partners CJC projects, including logístical support and potentially on-ground support. Projects could include helping to organise a summer school on climate justice, or coordinating a research paper into a wealth tax to fund a just transition.

**Campaign and advocacy work**: coordinate and implement campaign and influencing work, as well as scheduling of campaign activities among partners.

The coalition works through task teams. The coordinator will need to have an overview of the task teams' works, liaise with and support task team leads, and help ensure work is communicated back to the broader coalition.

**Administrative**:

- Working with the 350.org finance team, prepare and track the CJC budget, including tracking of subgrants. Provide regular reports on the budget.
- Assist in coordination of the CJC meetings: scheduling, preparing the agenda and ensuring minutes are captured and shared.
- Manage CJC information resources - ensure all relevant documents and information is stored, organised and easily accessible to partners.
- For in-person meetings, be responsible for (potentially working with a service provider) the logistics of the meeting including venue, accommodation and transport.
- Together with the 350.org development team, compile regular reports on CJC work for funders and ensure reporting/project spreadsheets are kept up to date with accurate information.
