JOB PURPOSE*
Our Client has appointed us to assist with a regulatory compliance project for a bank operating in various jurisdictions. For each jurisdiction, we will update an existing database of applicable regulations enforced by in scope Regulators to include what has been amended, repealed or inserted as well as new regulations/ legislation, taking into consideration the business of the bank within the jurisdiction. It also includes updating the database with enforcement actions brought by the in-scope Regulators against financial institutions for violating any of the regulations existing/added to the database.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Providing guidance to the team on the legal system as well as the way legislation is formulated and structured within that particular jurisdiction.
- Providing legal opinions on the applicability of a regulation/legislation, when required.
- Formulating instructions/briefing material for the team to follow in order to complete the review.
- Overseeing the work of the junior resources.
- Assisting with quality control and signing off on the accuracy of the reviews.
- Ensuring that periodic reviews are submitted within deadline and to the required standard.
- Responding to team and client queries.

**ROLE REQUIREMENTS**
- Law degree from a top tertiary institution
- Admitted Attorney with 3+ years PQE
- Must be a Qualified Attorney in one of the following jurisdictions;
- Australia
- Belgium
- Canada
- Cayman Islands
- Dutch Caribbean (Aruba, Curacao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Saba)
- European Union
- France
- Ireland
- Italy
- Netherlands
- Trinidad & Tobago
- Turks & Caicos
- United Kingdom
- United States
- Experience conducting legal research which includes analysing and interpreting legislation.
- Some exposure or understanding of financial/banking law would be advantageous.
