The focus of this job is to manage and retain an existing portfolio of business and to seek profitable growth opportunities through actively promoting the Santam Real Easte via intermediaries and business partners’ network. The position reports to Head: Santam Real Estate.
This job is focused on the retention and profitable growth of allocated broker portfolios through developing and management of strong relationships with intermediaries and internal business partners.
The position reports to the Regional Manager. What will make you successful in the role
Manage allocated portfolio growth, retention, profitability, and any other business relevant factors and agree growth plan by supporting Santam sales strategy & business plan in line with the segment targets
Identify new broker relationships and build on existing ones.
Ensure a consistent and detailed understanding of the new business targets, goals, performance levels, products, business rules and conditions.
Ensure a consistent detailed understanding amongst brokers of their growth targets, goals, performance levels and product needs.
Establishing strategies to further grow the portfolio and contribute ideas, leadership and innovation.
Assist in identifying new potential brokers and opportunities for business growth and facilitate conversion of new business and quotes.
Ensure detailed understanding of business processes and standards of each business area and manage broker expectations in accordance therewith.
Ensure brokers operate within agreed mandates, where binding authority is granted.
Serve as the primary contact point for broker staff to build and maximise the broker business relationship.
Supporting Santam sales strategy & business plan in line with the segment targets
Ensuring compliance of broker portfolios with respective internal governance controls
Monthly analysis of figures down to broker level
Report at operation meetings Qualifications and Experience
Matric Qualification
Tertiary qualification - Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Insurance related qualification will be advantage.
FAIS Compliant (120 credits on NQF level 5)
Regulatory Exam compliance (RE5).
Working knowledge / experience in short term insurance of which 5 years should be in Commercial & Personal lines.
At least 5 years commercial experience in an operational environment involving responsibility of a large portfolio of broker business.
Good Operational experience regarding commercial business on external platform
5 years’ experience in maintaining and growing a profitable portfolio of Commercial and personal insurance.
Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) at an intermediate proficiency level. Knowledge and Skill
