Head: Product Owner

**Introduction**

**Role Purpose**

To manage the primary interface between IT and business for Momentum Corporate in an agile environment.

**Requirements**:

- IT degree or relevant qualification
- 1-3 years management experience or previous management experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the employee benefits business domain and processes will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge in Agile development practices and roles, Lean principles, and Design thinking processes.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Lead a team of product owners that are responsible for various products within Momentum Corporate.
- Partner with Business analyst team leader/s for the overall business analysis community of practice to align to the agile SDLC and software delivery.
- Manage and maintain the backlog of development items for business. Understand and translate the business strategy and the business process contributing to the strategy.
- Lead and inspire an environment for digitalization of business processes centered around client centricity.
- Effectively communicate the need for process re-engineering to business and IT Teams.
- Participate in risk management and audit processes.
- Effectively manage backlogs along - side software development teams.
- Manage and lead a community of products owners that compile the backlogs and ensure regular engagement in the backlog grooming/revision.
- Ensure development prioritization happens according to priorities agreed with relevant stakeholders. Conduct performance reviews, career development discussion and provide feedback to team members.
- Provide leadership and support to team members by creating an environment that continues to improve in knowledge and skills etc.
- Identify, develop, embed and demonstrate aligned values that drive and support the required behaviour to achieve the articulated vision and strategy.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviour of personal involvement, commitment, and dedication to the business area in support of the organisation’s culture.
- Successfully manage an operational IT environment et. Business process exceptions and software bugs that require intervention from an IT team.
- Assist with decision making when exceptions occur and how to successfully deal with them.
- Provide leadership for and participate in BCP and DR processes.
- Provide reporting regarding all areas of responsibility, at different levels and for different Audiences/stakeholders
