**Job Advert Summary**:
The Recruiter/Driver will report to the study project manager and project team and site support staff to successfully implement their role. This position is offered on a **13 month contract**

**Minimum Requirements**:**
Minimum requirements**:

- Valid driver’s license (Code EB) of longer than 12 months;
- Endorsement free driving record;
- 3-5 years driving experience;
- Fluency in isiZulu and English.
- Prior knowledge and experience of HIV/AIDS issues;
- PDP licence and/or previous experience with 4x4 vehicles
- Sound written and verbal communication skills;
- Commitment to working as part of multi-disciplinary research team;
- The ability to work accurately, independently and in a team;
- Driving experience in rural areas and gravel/non-tarred roads;
- Experience towing caravans or trailers;
- Ability to problem solve, and to be well organized.
- Are able to work accurately, independently and in a team
- Willingness to work after hours and over weekends and in rural communities

Applicants will be required to take a practical skills assessment test as part of the interview process.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:**
Key responsibilities**:

- Mobilising participants to receive counselling and testing.
- Recruiting and screening participants to the study.
- Ensuring the safety of staff using study vehicles;
- Preparing the vehicle prior to being used for the field activities;
- Ensuring that the vehicle is kept clean and is a roadworthy condition;
- Keeping a record of all costs associated with the vehicle (invoices for maintenance, toll and fuel slips etc.);
- Ensuring that the vehicle log book is correctly filled in;
- Ensuing that any damages and faults are promptly reported to the field coordinator and the office manager;
- Portraying a positive and professional image in the study communities while driving the vehicle;
- Assisting team members with packing, transporting and storing field supplies as per study procedures i.e. temperature and supplies monitoring;
- Facilitating participant reimbursement to eligible participants;
- Assisting project staff in community orientation and venue location;
- Safely transporting biological specimen, medical waste and field supplies to and from the office;
- Transporting, monitoring and supervising community-based mobiliser’s in the field;
- Carrying out any other activities deemed necessary for the effective and productive functioning of the team.
