Facilities Manager

Job Description: The role of the facility manager is to ensure that the facility is operating as it should daily by completing daily inspections and conducting repairs, upgrades, and maintenance.

Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities:

- Source contracts and service providers for catering, cleaning, parking, security, and technology functions.
- Manage facilities and maintenance budget.
- Conduct proactive (preventative) maintenance and upgrades.
- Ensure that facilities meet compliance standards and government regulations.
- Ensure employee and facility safety.
- Communicate effectively with clients, tenants, vendors, contractors, and other internal stakeholders.
- Oversee contracts and service providers for catering, cleaning, parking, security, and technology functions.
- Oversee and plan renovations, refurbishments, and building projects.
- Ensure that basic facilities are well-maintained. (Decrease workplace hazards.)
- Ensure the company meets occupational health and safety standards.
- Forecast and plan the facility’s needs and requirements.
- Assist with office relocations.
- Draft maintenance reports.
- Undertake building environmental assessments.
- Complete sustainability plans.
- Conduct site assessments and produce reports on findings.
- Initiate renewable energy assessments.
- Advising on the latest low or zero-carbon technologies.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
The minimum level of formal qualification required for the role:

- Diploma in management, engineering, or business studies.

The type of relevant work experience essential for the role is:

- Budget management
- Space management
- Building maintenance
- Testing and inspection of building infrastructure
- Contract(or) management
- EHS (environment, health, safety)
- Security
- Facility maintenance planning
- Managing renovations and refurbishments
- Facility condition assessments
- Procurement and negotiation
