**Job Summary**: Are you a self-motivated operations specialist with at least 5 years’ experience in the retail property maintenance sector?

An internal promotion has given rise to a rare opportunity in a leading Property division of a significant conglomerate operating throughout South Africa and in various African & Middle Eastern countries.

Reporting directly to the National head of operations, they are looking for someone to take responsibility for all maintenance, project works and capital expenditure in a wide spread portfolio of retail buildings. Approx 10+ sites of between 4 to 20 tenants per site are mostly based around in and around the furthest edges of Gauteng, which you would manage day to day, with the help of two handymen on the larger two sites. Although based at Head Office in Sandton site visits will be part of your daily or weekly routine. Whilst none of the properties in and of themselves are particularly demanding, the size and spread of the portfolio means that only someone who is highly organised and has attention to administrative detail will cope with the steady workflow quantum coming in.

As such they are looking to hire someone who can coordinate and manage multiple contractors simultaneously, key responsibility lays in, identifying the cause of concern before selecting the most appropriate service provider, raising internal orders, signing off completion and quality of work and requesting approval on unbudgeted expense.

Clearly admin and IT skills will be tested daily, but so too will your ability to colaborate with other departments, prioritise tasks and provide technical & budgeting advice to the portfolio manager.

This role would suit a team player who is able to liaise with tenants and head office in a professional manner to make sure the assets are running optimally. Whilst a property management or technical qualification is preferred, it is your proven track record in multi-site maintenance which will secure. Minimum 3 years’ experience and exceptional communication skills essential.
