**Overview**

**Concrete Laboratory General Manager**
- To manage daily activities to meet the strategic, scientific, commercial, marketing, and financial aspects for the laboratory;
- To ensure the management of the operations, laboratory functions and personnel for compliance to set procedures, national standard specifications and quality management system
- To ensure new business and innovation opportunities are created and harnessed for financial sustainability of the laboratory;
- To manage both internal and external stakeholder functions and relations for the seamless functioning of the laboratory;
**Required qualification**
- Advanced Concrete Technology Diploma, B. Tech, or Degree in Civil Engineering OR related qualification

**Required Experience**:

- At least 5 years of management experience
- At least 10 years of experience in the civil engineering field as either a consulting engineer, on site construction experience and/or materials supplier to the industry.

**Required Knowledge**:

- Knowledge of concrete, cement and cementitious related products.

**Required Skills**:

- Strong leadership and emotional intelligence skills i.e. high self-motivation levels
- Being analytical in a manner to analyse results, ensure compliance of work done and ultimately ensure correct reporting of results on a daily basis
- Able to interpret results in the broader sense and discuss the reports or outcomes with the customers
- Ability to work under pressure with ever changing demands
- Organizational skills and implementation of new systems or changes to existing systems

**Other knowledge or skills but not essential**
- Being acquainted with the ISO 17025 quality management system with experience as a technical signatory.
- Having concrete, cement and related products technology knowledge and experience in the workplace
- Experience in a laboratory environment either directly or indirectly

**Salary**: R40,000.00 - R70,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Johannesburg, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
