Job Description

The Senior Laboratory Operations Manager will be responsible for:

  • Managing the laboratory staff and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Providing technical support and explanation where required to laboratory staff, including problem-solving on instruments and analytical methods.
  • Overseeing and managing all laboratory staff, including training and development.
  • Tending to client needs and queries related to the laboratory and work conducted therein.
  • Performing quality control activities in association with the laboratory manager.
  • Carrying out tasks in compliance with stated policies, procedures, methods, and SOPs.
  • Seeking opportunities for improvement in testing and quality activities.
  • Ensuring quality standards are maintained in all respects and implementing internal controls.
  • Assisting with aspects of safety, including training and regular safety checks.
Salary Package

We offer a highly competitive salary package, including benefits, which is negotiable depending on experience gained. Based on industry standards, we estimate a salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, reflecting the level of expertise and qualifications required for this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BSc degree in chemistry or a related field, with a postgraduate qualification an advantage.
  • Previous experience working in an animal feeds or related laboratory, preferably with a strong understanding of chemistry principles and related calculations.
  • An ability to display analytical and innovative thinking, with strong communication skills and excellent Excel and computer skills.
  • A knowledge of various analytical equipment, with the ability to seek opportunities for improvement in testing and quality activities.
