Stakeholder Management Specialist

The incumbent will develop and maintain positive, collaborative relations with key stakeholders, liaise, influence and persuade stakeholders on key issues that will support the achievement of the organisation's mandate and ensure the successful implementation of the stakeholder relations and engagement strategy.

He/she will establish key relationships with stakeholders, internally and externally within both the public and private sectors to position the Lesira brand positively regionally, nationally and internationally.

**Role**:
**Stakeholder Management**
- Establish an effective liaison role with each Municipality to ensure that a two-way liaison channel is created and maintained, and those issues concerning the company and stakeholders are addressed effectively and efficiently.
- Attend and represent the company at all Metering related Council Committees.
- Ensure that the company is represented in all public/private structures and forums relating to the company’s business by establishing and being an effective liaison.
- Create an effective stakeholder liaison network by attending local community organisation meetings which are served by the company.
- Ensure that a balanced relationship is established with the local community and that this relationship is maintained effectively to the benefit of the company.
- Create and update stakeholder database regularly.

**Strategic partnerships**
- Responsible for initiating and managing strategic partnerships with public/private sector clients business, communities and other existing and potential Lesira partners.
- Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with Lesira’s strategic partners by developing a tailored engagement plan.
- Support Lesira to cultivate a more positive and collaborative partnering culture in the organisation and its Network.
- Support the organisation, develop a clear and compelling value offering to key strategic partners, including (but not limited to) participating public/private sector clients.

**Communication**

**Internal communication**
- Design and implement a robust interactive and popular system of internal communications that include at a minimum:

- A newsletter;
- Frequent MD messages;
- Education and topical issues;
- Feedback mechanism.

**External communication**
- Responsible for spearheading strategic direction initiatives and planning, coordination, and management of Lesira’s integrated marketing, public relations, and strategic communications strategy.
- Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program that will enhance the organisation’s image and position within the marketplace and the general public, and facilitate external communications.
- Support the organisation’s staff and board in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with external organisations and funders.
- Ensure articulation of Lesira’s desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position.
- Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of all Lesira publication.
- Coordinate media interest in Lesira and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests.
- Act as the organisation’s representative with the media and be Lesira’s spokesperson.
- Coordinate the appearance of all organisation print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo brochures and so forth.
- Advise the Lesira leadership on government and private sector initiatives that are directly or indirectly related to the work of Lesira.
- Strengthen Lesira’s networking capabilities.
- Play a key relationship manager role in the definition and delivery of Lesira projects by assessing stakeholders' expectations and ensuring that they are effectively addressed.

**Leadership and management**
- Advise the Lesira leadership on government and private sector initiatives that are directly or indirectly related to the work of Lesira.

**Essential Skills/Knowledge**
- Strong intellectual skills, track record of innovative thinking, analysis and practical activity.
- Proven ability in communications and stakeholder relations.
- Knowledge of government and private sector policies, politically aware.
- Capable of innovating and developing business growth and quality improvement.
- Key stakeholder engagement.
- Creativity and a flair for new initiatives.
- Comfortable presenting content to a range of audiences, including policy makers academics, public and the media.
- Skilled at networking and network-building.
