**Introduction**:
Tracker requires the services of a Head: Direct Sales to focus on developing, implementing and reviewing the Direct Sales strategy in order to ensure that the approved strategic objectives are achieved for Tracker within the stipulated timeframes. The successful incumbent will direct and influence complex stakeholder engagements across the organisation. The Head of Direct Sales is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the consumer and business sales contact centre environments. The role is responsible for driving sales initiatives focused on the existing Tracker customer base as well as aggressively driving sales of value-added products and services, customer retention and the acquisitions of new customers.

**Key roles and responsibilities**:
**Strategy Formulation**
- Responsible for the creation of a strategy to guide the Direct Sales department as determined by the strategic objectives.
- Responsible for lead conversion targets across the various channels; upselling of products and services, sales of value-added products, support to the retention and sales teams and building and maintaining partner relationships.
- Effective and accurate database management aligned to the Business Intelligence and Direct Marketing key objectives.
- Initiate and development of outbound touch strategy; integrate retention and outbound sales activities with marketing and customer centricity activities and key objectives.
**Operational Services Delivery**
- Assume responsibility for the setting of relevant and meaningful sales targets for the Direct Sales Contact Centres and ensure alignment with Tracker’s overall strategic goals.
- Responsible for setting up campaigns through various platforms to upsell to existing customers and new customers.
- Manage the sales forecasting and budget process effectively, inclusive of commission and incentive structures.
- Establish all sales campaigns in conjunction with key strategic focus areas within Tracker and provide clear guidance on how these campaigns should be tested and implemented.
- Assume responsibility for the development, implementation and management of relevant policies, procedures and sales processes.
- Responsible for the generation and utilisation of insightful analytics that enables the management teams to deliver a continuously improving experience.
- Ensure adherence to statutory requirements (FAIS, Fit & Proper Requirements, TCF, POPIA etc.)
**Stakeholder Engagement**
- Coordinate the development of required systems/platforms to manage the end to end sales process and reporting at all levels.
- Work collaboratively with Marketing, Product Owners and IT Infrastructure to create product intelligence, for example, product/brand affinities, display rules, conducting trend analysis, and ensuring that these are aligned to support and drive sales and conversion.
- Implement benchmarks and standards in terms of process flows, quality process, recruitment and training.
- Responsible for monitoring and management of competitor information and market intelligence.
- Effectively build, maintain and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive mutually beneficial relationships.
- Utilize analytics tools and works with the analytics team in undertaking detailed analyses of sales performance for the purpose of reporting sales strategy successes, weaknesses, and opportunities to senior sales
**Financial Management**
- Responsible for driving divisional P&L and for managing the budgets for the Contact centre - reviewing and negotiating costs, forecasting and cost analysis and maximising productivity and profitability.
- Design incentive budget through well-articulated business case
- Responsible for determining relevant best practices to create efficiencies in every process.
- Monitoring, managing and reporting of overtime, commissions, incentives & expenditure.
- Managing and reporting of monthly ad hoc expenditure.
- Cultivate financial management practices across the department geared towards optimising the effective use of assets
**People Management**
- Lead and manage the Direct Sales leadership team including the full human capital function for the department.
- Ensure the appropriate resourcing to meet performance and delivery against departmental targets.
- Develop, implement and manage appropriate performance measurements aligned with Tracker’s performance management framework in line with the Direct Sales targets and conversion rates and the cascading of performance objectives in order to drive operational success.
- Responsible for setting an example for staff by living the values and culture of Tracker
- Responsible for creating an environment where talent is identified, nurtured and are developed, engaged and successfully retained
