The CDF Fund Manager is accountable to the Executive Manager: Corporate Services at the CDC.
- MANDATE
- The CDF Fund Manager is mandated by the Board of Directors of the Coega Development Foundation to oversee the operations of the CDF with the primary objective of raising funds and building a strong stakeholder base for the CDF.
- DESCRIPTION3 RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS

The primary objectives of the CDF Fund Manager are to:

- Develop and implement a CDF strategy that meets the CDF Board’s approval requirements.
- Develop a fundraising strategy that aligns with the organisation’s mission, vision, and goals, as well as identifying and cultivating potential funders.
- Report to the Board of Directors in accordance with the delegation of authority.
- Oversee the assets and financial resources of the CDF.
- Develop strong relationships with external stakeholders at various levels.
- Cultivate a network of dedicated donors, sponsors and partners.
- Develop and maintain a stakeholder matrix with contact details of individuals, corporations, and foundations who could and have provided funding for CDF’s socio-economic enhancement initiatives.
- Plan, secure, manage and report on the funds that support the CDF’s programmes, projects and operations.
- Develop Business Development strategies and plans for the Foundation by proactively identifying new opportunities and needs using market and customer intelligence.
- Develop and successfully execute fundraising campaigns.
- Develop, manage and monitor the CDF’s budget, cashflow and expenditures of the funds including tracking income and funding disbursement.
- Manage the timely disbursement of funds to the approved beneficiaries.
- Manage, evaluate and report on funded programs and projects.
- Ensure that all donors, partners and sponsors are satisfied and appraised of developments.
- Develop effective governance tools, systems and processes for the CDF.
- Ensure compliance with funder’s requirements, as well as evaluate and report on the impact and outcomes of the funded activities.
- Implement appropriate metrics that will measure the impact of CDF projects and initiatives.
- Manage performance and project resources, including human resources.
- Collaborate with units within the CDC to ensure alignment and integration of activities, and
- Co-ordinate CDF meetings.

4 COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of a Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Development Finance, Business, Public relations, Development studies or related field;
- At least five years’ experience in fundraising, fund management, development, sales, or marketing, coupled with experience in leading teams;
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills;
- Passion for research and strong presentation skills;
- Able to successfully balance priorities while managing multiple tasks and planning complex projects;
- Able to think creatively, take initiative, plan and execute projects;
- Able to set goals and take responsibility to achieving them;
- Able to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Computer literacy (Microsoft suite);
- Driver’s licence for light motor vehicle.

5 PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Performance is monitored regularly by the Executive Manager: Corporate Services by reference to the following Key Performance Indicators:

- Acquisition of donor funding;
- Establishment and maintenance of strategic partnerships;
- Level of Customer and Stakeholder satisfaction;
- Impact of the CDF Programmes and Projects and;
- Efficiency and effectiveness of the CDF in meeting its objectives.
