"TRS has an urgently opportunity for a proficient TECHNICAL MANAGER with a solid understanding of procurement processes, procedures, supply chain management to join our local leading Client’s team based in DURBAN."

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:

- Responsible for buying qualified materials, products, and services, from vetted suppliers.
- Evaluating and sourcing prospective suppliers, collaborating with the technical team on the evaluation and qualification of suppliers, procuring approved parts, components, assemblies and equipment, raw materials etc. mainly Electronic, Mechanical and Chemical in nature, as required by an Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing business.
- Procuring supplies, consumables and services for manufacturing and office environments.
- Responsible for strategically sourcing quotes for materials, products, and services, negotiating pricing with suppliers (mainly local), making recommendations, with justifiable motivations for purchase orders.
- Placing and tracking purchase orders and updating management on the status of the purchase orders up to the point of delivery.
- Ethically manage the buying process, within the specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor’s Degree (Commerce, Business, Economics, Supply Chain, Procurement, Purchasing etc.) or Supply Chain Management.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a Technical Buying role, in a direct supplier facing environment.
- Excellent technical, analytical, negotiating skills and astute business acumen.
- English (excellent verbal and written communication).
- Experienced in MS Office, ERP systems.
- Driver’s license.
