Exciting opportunity within the manufacturing division of a fast growing retail organisation within the cosmetics industrustry.

The primary purpose of a Production manager will be to oversee all aspects of the production process, to meet productivity, quality and safety standards of all products manufactured and to manage and control the team of operators for all manufacturing areas

Job Requirements

Develop the production plan

Manage the production process to ensure that production meets the plan, quality and cost efficient. Take corrective actions during the process as necessary to minimize disruptions and loss.

Address production staff issues and manage production staff

Prepare production targets

Ensure production targets are met

Write report on production accomplished with information on shrinkage, wastage and employee performance.

Arrange overtime with production staff when needed.

Assess quality and quantity of all raw materials that have come into factory and write report on their status

Inform directors of any issues with raw materials and then address it with the suppliers of such raw materials.

Ensure that stock levels are at its highest at peak trading periods.

Ensure that he or she is available the entire October, November, December and January

Adjust stock levels to meet demand over various months of the year.

Testing, and investigating stock returned from shops

Re-allocating stock that is returned to its various designations

Planning well in advance (2 months before) for specials, offers, and clearance sales.

Monthly stock takes

Mix ethanol with oil (with assistant) on weekly basis at the exact formula

Keep records of the mixing of the perfume so as to follow a trail

Keep batch numbers and records of each batch made

Ensure all equipment is kept clean and properly maintained.

Ensure that quality control is strictly adhered to:
Pumps are crimped correctly

Print is clear, and straight

Perfume is filled at correct level

Perfume is in correct bottle

Keep entire production area neat and clean

Ensure that order and a efficient structure of storage and process is kept at all times

Implement procedures to make the stock making process more accurate and efficient.

Monitor all production consumables’ stock levels

Create a velocity report that ensures that there are never shortages of any consumables or raw materials.

Meet with management to discuss and confirm orders

Receive and check stock from suppliers, then submit invoice/delivery note to bookkeeper

Ensure staff are:
Packing products into packets in correct quantities

Placing products in allocated storage area

Preparing stock and caps for delivery

Ensure that all cans are placed at correct place after use

Sort out and fic reject stock

ensure that when stock is running low to report it to the team and directors

work closely with admin, directors and factory general manager.

Understanding and working DEAR inventory system.

Keep updated with improvements on the inventory system always seeking ways to make production more efficient.

Ensure there is never low or no stock for online or shop orders

ensure that the work output is done qualitatively and quantitatively, meeting all set out standards and that the department’s available labour and equipment is utilized effectively.

Manage the raw material inventory control with needed checks in place, to conduct location checks, to verify if materials are in correct location.

Manage Product safety and ensuring that the Isando Facility complies to high quality standards

Manage Process Orders by monitoring and ensure executed according to Working Instruction and to ensure compliance to work procedures.

Communication with Planning and Customer Service for requirements as per Open Orders daily meeting to Ensure that Customer service targets for deliveries are met.

Provide and facilitate training to Production staff on Working instructions

Assist writing SOP’s (Standard operating Procedures) for the manufacturing department.

Ensure full compliance with all Safety procedures, ISO work instructions, AIB requirements and Legislative requirements and HACCP

Investigate any work-related accidents and ensure full compliance to systems as required

Maximize equipment utilization to achieve efficiency
- Preferably Production diploma/degree or similar will be an advantage.

2. Minimum of 7 years’ experience in similar field

3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with mínimal direct supervision.

5. Computer literate

6. Good verbal and written communication skills.

Daily personnel management, communicate leave between personnel and HR, training.

Perform any other reasonable and lawful duties as required by the company.

Pay: Up to R30 000,00 per month

**Experience**:

- Manufacturing: 7 years (preferred)
