Technical Manager

**Purpose**:
Provides strategic input, technical management and expertise on the Department of Environmental Affairs PPP building managed by Imvelo Facilities Management (Operations Subcontractor), directly or through outsourced service providers. Responsible for the management of Imvelo FMs projects and technical services for its clients. Responsible for ensuring that all technical services contracts are managed and implemented effectively and efficiently.
**Employee duties and responsibilities**:
- Planning, co-ordination and control of all technical and facilities management activities on behalf of Imvelo Facilities Management.
- Management of technical service providers, ensuring they are competent in their appointed disciplines and provide the correct, most cost-effective and efficient service.
- Design and establishment of suitable procedures for planned, preventative maintenance for the building and devises methods and procedures.
- Keeping abreast with latest technology, materials and work methods within building services and facilities management.
- Ensuring and managing the replacement equipment and building fabric that has reached its end of useful life, in accordance with the Maintenance Reserve Account programme.
- Compilation of monthly technical management report(s) technical and financial, in accordance with the criteria specified by Imvelo Facilities Management.
- Compilation of financial expense budgets. Management and control of expense budgets and expenditure.
- Maintenance of building assets in accordance with the Operations Subcontract.
- Management of staff under the Technical Managers control.
- Effective and ongoing communication with stakeholders.
- Manage and control of Risk as defined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Effective management and control of Risk in respect of machinery, plant, equipment, fire services and electrical reticulation.
- Effective management and control of energy and general utilities.
- Effective management and control of green building performance indicators and features.

Engineering/Technical Diploma/Degree or equivalent experience.
OHS training
Samtrac or equivalent preferred

A minimum of 5 years appropriate management experience.

Utilise resources including but not limited to; staff, materials, equipment and technology to meet the companys objectives.
