The purpose of the Group eCommerce Merchandising Manager is to manage and improve the development of online marketing and customer experience, as well as running the retail function of all eCommerce offerings across the Shoprite Group brands, this includes driving eCommerce sales, the selection of the online product range, and the merchandising and promotion of this range. This role provides extensive eCommerce solutions to various Shoprite Group Brands Buyers in developing new marketing strategy, online range and content, whilst offering continuous support on merchandising of the sites post go live. The Group eCommerce Merchandising Manager executes the alignment of ecommerce merchandising strategy across the various Shoprite Group Brands. This role leads a team of eCommerce Category Managers and collaborates with cross-functional partners to manage all aspects of the e-commerce business within the Shoprite Group.

**Job Objectives**:

- Assume overall accountability for the effective ecommerce merchandising alignment of the group
wide product range including:

- Overall layout and look and feel of the sites.
- Effective search and discoverability.
- Implementation of site merchandising (daily, weekly, monthly).
- Product page optimization.
- Promotions strategy in line with the objectives of Shoprite Group.
- Manage creative assets in an easily accessed archive.
- Set up and manage merchandising assets.
- Support the execution of the marketing strategies on the site.
- Collaborate with buying teams to select product ranges that best promotes offers and maximises sales.
- Partner with cross functional teams to ensure all products have images, copy, and pricing in accordance with planned launch dates.
- Ensure digital channels are rich with content and enable customers to easily discover products in the catalogue.
- Collaborate with the product coordination teams to ensure accuracy and integrity of the product catalogue are always maintained.
- Work closely with the buying and marketing teams to deliver on promotions which maximises sales.
- Deliver and report on online sales against agreed KPIs.
- Analyse weekly / daily performance, provide insights and drive day-to-day optimisation.
- Present sales analysis to merchandising and eCommerce leadership as well as cross
- functional teams, highlighting weekly key takeaways and future action plans.
- Seek out new ways to enhance and evolve the online shopping experience.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in Marketing, Business or equivalent - (essential)

**Experience**:

- +5 years' experience as an Ecommerce Merchandising Manager or equivalent role, with solid experience supervising, developing and supporting digital marketing strategies and sites for online sales - (essential)
- Solid experience collaborating with UX Designers, Technical and Product Management teams to oversee the delivery of a personalized customer experience - (preferred)

**Knowledge and Skills**:

- Knowledge of eCommerce retail business within the context of retail merchandising operations and projects - (essential).
